The Medical College of Georgia Cancer Center provides a modern research environment specifically designed to facilitate and inspire cancer research. The 167,000 square foot facility will house 35 or more new research faculty and approximately 175 associated personnel.
Major research programs include:
- Cancer Prevention and Control
- Developmental Theraputics
- Immunology / Immunotherapy
- Molecular Oncology
- Epigenetics
- Chaperone Biology
- Molecular Signaling
By incorporating research faculty with similar interests into a contiguous space, the CRC will create a dynamic environment to stimulate synergy in terms of both scientific creativity and extramural funding for cancer related research programs. It is an ideal way to capitalize on existing institutional cancer research initiatives and to enhance the research component of MCG's CancerCenter and the Augusta/Athens Regional Program of Excellence (EGCC).
