- 03.27.07: The EGCC would like to extend a warm welcome Emem Adolf, who has recently joined us as an intern. Adolf has already begun working on a very important project
on survivorship and we look forward to her continued work with us this summer.
- 03.09.07: With Spring semester at its midpoint, the EGCC has successfully presented informational
 CANCER WORKSHOPS focusing on prevention and
early detection to numerous University of Georgia groups and dormitories. Led
by Michelle Vaught, M.A., with assistance from Sarah Shrum, these presentations have focused
on cancer issues of particular importance to young adults including testicular cancer and the HPV vaccine, as well the role tobacco, alcohol, sun exposure, and healthy eating habits play in cancer development

- 01.24.07: Save the date!--A PALLIATIVE CARE CANCER SUMMIT hosted by the Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coaltion will be held May 10 & 11, 2007 at the Winshape Retreat Center at Berry College in Rome, GA. For more information please contact Gena Agnew at www.nwgacancer.org.

- 01.16.07: The East Georgia Cancer Coalition would like to officially welcome Mary Conroy and Sarah Shrum into its internship program. Conroy and Shrum will be assisting with educational and community outreach initiatives, fundraising, physician & treatment database building, and other actitivies.
