As a non-profit organization, the mission of GA-CORE is to promote quality cancer care for all Georgians.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of highly-respected, multidisciplinary oncology scientists and care providers from across Georgia.
We have three primary goals:
- Develop an oncology clinical trials network that supports
investigator- and industry-sponsored, and translational clinical trials that address the Georgia cancer research agenda.
- Promote coordinated cancer professional education opportunities
Identify and provide educational content for health professionals via the GA-CORE web portal.
- Collaborate with the Georgia Cancer Coalition to implement a statewide longitudinal
database to evaluate cancer control outcomes in Georgia.
Our strategies to achieve these goals include:
- Using technology to streamline communication and work flow;
- Providing an infrastructure to conduct multidisciplinary, statewide oncology trials;
- Facilitating collaboration among oncology scientists and care providers in community and academic settings;
- Leveraging the intellectual resources and needs of Georgians at risk or with a diagnosis of cancer with private, industry, and government resources to fight cancer together.
